Visit Goldfield Ghost Town

Goldfield Ghost Town, established in 1893, remains one of the coolest attractions in Apache Junction. The ghost town is located between the majestic and haunting Superstition Mountains and the Goldfield Mountains.

The town became a settlement in 1893 when gold was found. Shortly after, the mine was viewed as profitable for the town. Because the mine was so popular and profitable, the resources became quickly scarce. Once all of the resources were used up, the town became deserted, and thus, became the ghost town we know today.

Today, the ghost town has new life breathed back into it. You can take a mine tour, ride a railroad, zipline, gold pan, watch a shootout, and more! There are fun things to do for everyone in the family. Whether you want to do something physical like zipline or practice your shooting, or if you want to take it a bit easy and visit a museum, Goldfield Ghost Town has something for you!

Pro tip: don’t cause a difficult visit to your dentist by breaking a tooth on a piece of gold. The Ghost Town is open from 10am to 5pm, every day.
